Should I stop taking my pain medication?
You do not need to stop taking any prescribed or over the counter medication you have been taking prior to your appointment. It will not interfere with the examination.

How many treatments will I need?
Every patient and condition is unique. The time it takes each patient to heal depends on many factors.
Traditionally, we will see our patients twice a week for the first 4-6 weeks and then perform a re-evaluation. After that, if we are seeing good results, we will start spacing your visits out.

Is it painful?

Acupuncture uses thin needles to stimulate different points on your body.  Sometimes there can be mild discomfort when the needle is inserted, but it is pretty mild.  Occasionally there can be some mild bruising at the site of insertion that fades over a few days.

Can I use Acupuncture along with other treatments?

Yes, Acupuncture is a great modality to use in tandem with other pain management treatments you may already be using for chronic pain.
